Vetrinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT)

AKA

Animal Chiropractic

Animal Chiropractic, or VSMT, is a healthcare modality that addresses hypomobilities, or joints that have lost their proper motion.  By correcting these hypomobilities we are able to decrease your pets pain, improve neuro-muscular health, as well as stimulate its brain to function more efficiently.

By applying a gentle and specific high velocity low amplitude (HVLA) thrust into a joint plain, Dr. Adam is able to comfortably improve the mobility and function of your animal.

Heat, tenderness, inflammation, and decreased range of motion are some of the criteria used to determine what your animal needs to get pain free and functioning at its best!

For the nerds ;)

Mobilization of hypomobile joint complexes stimulates afferent information to the dorsal horn of the spinal cord via large diameter fibers.  This inhibits pain, as well as sends information up to the cortex (your brain) via spinal tracts in the spinal cord.  The autonomic nervous system is also stimulated via the Intermedial Lateral nucleus (IML) found in the lateral horn of the spinal cord.

P.S. It has the same amazing effects in humans!
